Flamazine cream is a widely used antibacterial cream, also known as silver sulfadiazine cream. It is most commonly used to treat burn wounds and prevent further infection. Flamazine cream may also be used to prevent infection after a skin graft, on skin with extensive cuts and for fingertip injuries. It is sometimes used for short periods of time to treat leg ulcers and pressure sores.

Flamazine cream contains the active ingredient silver sulfadiazine, which it is also named after.

This is a type of antibiotic in the sulfonamide group. These antibiotics kill a wide variety of bacteria as well as some fungi. They stop the bacteria from multiplying and causing an infection.
