MUPIROCIN SOAP

Mupirocin is an antibiotic that’s applied topically to treat bacterial skin infections. It’s available as an ointment or cream.
How it works
Mupirocin prevents bacteria from growing and spreading by stopping them from producing proteins they need to survive
It’s effective against staphylococci, streptococci, and other bacteria
What it’s used for
Mupirocin is used to treat skin infections like impetigo, folliculitis, and wound infections
It can also be used to reduce or eliminate staphylococci in the nose
How to use it
Wash the affected area with soap and water
Pat the area dry
Apply a thin layer of mupirocin to the affected area
Repeat two to three times a day, or as directed by your doctor
Continue using mupirocin for the full course of treatment, even if symptoms improve
When to avoid it
Don’t use mupirocin on open wounds or burnt skin
Don’t use mupirocin if you’re under 2 months old
Rinse with water if it gets in your eyes, mouth, or nose
